Biodivesity means the variety of life on Earth, including all the plants, animals, fungi, and microorganisms that make of the ecosystems. It's about the interconnected relationships to support the well being of ecosystems. Animal diversity is a key part of this, from tiny insects to large mammals, every species plays an important role in keeping ecosystems healthy and balanced. Unfortunately, many animals are currently threatened or endangered due to habitat loss, pollution, and human activity.
Rising temperatures, changes in rainfall patterns, and extreme weather can disrupt ecosystems, forcing species to migrate and threatening animals that cannot adapt quickly.
Physical destruction of habitats- including forests, wetlands, and oceans. This can be caused by many human activities, such as deforestation to build homes and roads, leaving animals without safe places to live.
Contamination- plastic waste, chemicals, pesticides, oil spills, air and water pollution can harm wildlife
Overfishing, illegal wildlife trade, hunting, and poaching can reduce populations faster than they recover
Non-native species can outcompete, prey on, or bring diseases to native species.
Diseases can spread rapidly through wildlife populations
